todayNovember 13, 2014

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Most Wisconsin residents now have access to high-speed Internet connections thanks to expanded broadband coverage across the state.  Officials say grants from both federal and state agencies, as well as private and public partnerships, have helped at least one broadband provider establish service in most rural areas. Public Service Commission of Wisconsin State Broadband Director Tithi Chattopadhyay tells Wisconsin Public Radio that state officials are working with residents living in those rural areas to help them understand how to use the technology.  Efforts include teaching small business owners the economic benefits of creating a website.  Some small pockets in the western part of the state still don’t have access to broadband providers due to some limitations. But statewide broadband coverage is the ultimate goal.
