There will be a benefit this month for a Fond du lac teen who was injured in a car vs. bicycle accident. The benefit for Grant Corbin will be held from 6:30 p.m. to midnight on Saturday November 22nd at The Retlaw Hotel in the Crystal Ballroom. Corbin was involved in a serious bicycle accident on Tuesday October 28th and was flown by helicopter to Children’s Hospital where he is slowly recovering, but has numerous surgeries and therapy ahead of him. Admission is free and there will be a lot of family friendly activities to participate in. Many businesses in the community will be donating their time and services for the event. AAA Wisconsin will be distributing and fitting 100 free bike helmets and bike safety literature. The North Fond du Lac Fire Department is providing snacks, and Mancino’s is donating pizza. There will also be a silent auction of many other donated items. Donations for the Corbin Family will be accepted at the door. Check out Prayers for Grant Corbin on Facebook for more information.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
