The National Weather Service says temperatures in Wisconsin this week have been 20 to 30 degrees below normal for this time of year. Meteorologist J.J Wood says the polar vortex is to blame. Wood says normal high temps are in the mid 40s this time of year. Wood says it may be a colder start to the winter…but the long range forecast is still 50-50 on whether we’ll see colder than normal temps for the entire winter season.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
