1-7-15 rescued dogs now up for adoption

todayJanuary 7, 2015

Five dogs rescued shortly before Christmas after they were abandoned along the side of busy Highway 41 are up for adoption.  Fond du Lac Animal Shelter manager Renee Webb says the dogs may have spent weeks in the elements before they were spotted by passing motorists.  Webb says a couple of the dogs were easily captured…but authorities had to use a tranquilizer dart to capture one of the puppies.  Webb says she can’t believe someone would abandon the animals near the side of a busy highway.  “Especially (highway) 41 there were a lot of people in the community that were going out and pulling over on the side of the highway attempting to capture, coax them in,”  Webb told AM 1170 wFDL’s Between the Line program.  Webb says the dogs appear to be a German Shepherd mix and applications for adoption can be filled out at the Fond du Lac animal shelter starting this week.
