The city of Fond du Lac is seeking requests for proposals for a new concessionaire at Lakeside Park. Public Works Director Jordan Skiff says the previous concessionaire informed the city toward the end of last season they would not continue their contract in 2015. Skiff says the food service professional who is selected will be able to use the concession area within the park pavilion as well as having an option of establishing a satellite site in the park. The contract is intended to run for 2015 and 2016. Proposals are due by Friday, January 16th.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
