With the opening of a new Campbellsport Highway garage expected soon the county board has approved the sale of the old garage site. The board voted to sell the property to the Drexel Building Supply Company for just under $100,000. County executive Al Buechel there’s not much value in the building itself, and the county is responsible for cleaning up any contamination on the property. Buechel says the old garage was simply too small.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
