todayFebruary 10, 2015

The Fond du Lac fire chief says a new smartphone app that can help a person in cardiac arrest is at least worth exploring locally.  The Madison Fire Department and Dane County EMS are teaming up with Meriter Health to launch the Pulsepoint smartphone app in the Madison area.  Fond du Lac Fire Chief Pete O’Leary says its an app that could shave critical moments off the time it takes to get help by alerting people with CPR training to assist someone who goes into cardiac arrest.  “If you have enough people with the app that have certification and you have aeds mapped on your smart phone it could very well help somebody that is suffering a cardiac arrest,”  O’Leary told WFDL news.  O’Leary says the app has become very popular on the west coast.
