2-17-15 new transmission line proposed for southern fdl county

todayFebruary 17, 2015

American Transmission Co. has  filed an application with the Public Service Commission of Wisconsin to construct a new 138-kilovolt transmission line in southern Fond du Lac County.  The proposed Creekview Interconnection project involves construction of a new substation and a new transmission line to address electric system reliability issues in the area.  The new Creekview Substation will be owned, built and operated by We Energies and will be  located on the north side of County Highway F near Greenway Road. To connect the substation to the electric transmission system, ATC will build a new transmission line either west of the proposed substation site, which would be 6.5 miles in length; or east and north of the proposed substation site, which would be 9.3 miles in length. The west alternative is ATC’s preferred route because it is shorter, less expensive and has fewer environmental impacts.   Public hearings will be held this summer followed by a PSC decision in the fall.
