3-10-15 former nfdl teacher bound over for trial on sexual assault charge

A  former assistant special education teacher at Horace Mann High School in North Fond du Lac teacher accused of sexually assaulting a special education student has been bound over for trial.  Fond du lac judge Robert Wirtz found probable cause at a preliminary hearing Friday for 45 year old Dominic Carmona. Carmona is charged with seven counts of sexual assault of a student by school staff.  Each count carries a maximum sentence of six years in prison.  Sheriff’s detective Pete Vergos testified that the alleged 16 year old victim told him that she had sexual contact with Carmona on at least ten occasions.  Vergos testified the girl said Carmona would pick her up at her residence and some of the sexual activity took place in his vehicle while he was driving.
