Fond du Lac police officers are investigating the second possible heroin overdose death in a couple weeks. Fond du Lac Assistant Police Chief Steve Klein said a 51-year-old Fond du Lac man was found dead in a second story apartment above Kathryn’s Nail Salon on South Main Street Sunday. Police are waiting for toxicology tests. A 39-year-old Fond du Lac man was found dead at his home on East Second Street last month from a suspected heroin overdose.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
