A new study ranks Fond du Lac number one in what is referred to as Economic Integration. Fond du Lac County Economic Development Corporation president, Steve Jenkins says the Martin Prosperity Institute study recognized Fond du Lac County with the least overall levels of income segregation in the nation. Jenkins says the study examined two factors…the extent to which the poor live in neighborhoods where the majority of residents are poor, and the wealthy living in neighborhoods populated by rich people. Jenkins says the study found that income class divisions and inequality are minimal in Fond du lac County.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
