The Fond du Lac city council has voted to lift parking restrictions on 15th Street between Main Street and Park Avenue. The restrictions were in place during street reconstruction last year and allow parking on just one side of the street. City Engineer Paul De Vries said the street was widened to the standard width of 32 feet — wide enough to support parking on both sides of the street. Before reconstruction, the street was too narrow to allow parking on two sides.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
