A 51-year-old Fond du Lac man has been convicted sexually assaulting a six year old girl. A Fond du lzc jury found Monty Moore guilty of repeated sexual assault of the same child. The charge carries a maximum penalty of 40 years in prison and 20 years extended supervision. According to a criminal complaint Moore sexually assaulted the child multiple times starting in the fall of 2013. A sentencing hearing is scheduled for July 24th.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
