A Fond du Lac man has been convicted of sexually assaulting a child. A Fond du Lac jury has found Gary Taylor guilty of repeated sexual assault of the same child. According to a criminal complaint Taylor sexually assaulted a 14-year-old girl on multiple occasions between April and June of 2013. According to the complaint the girl said Taylor told her to be quiet or he would hurt her. A sentencing hearing will be scheduled.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
