Former U.S. Senator Russ Feingold has announced he is running for the Senate against senator Ron Johnson the man who defeated him for the seat. Feingold announced his campaign today in a video message from his home in Middleton. Feingold says he looks forward to traveling through Wisconsin, listening carefully to the concerns of Wisconsinites and fighting to fix what he describes as “a broken Washington, D.C. system where multi-millionaires, billionaires and big corporations call the shots.”

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
