FDLFR will be hosting an Open House to celebrate Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Week 2015. The theme for this EMS week is “EMS STRONG”. EMS Strong will make EMS week a 365-day a year initiative to give EMS a significantly greater visibility among other health professions and communities. Putting EMS squarely where it belongs; as an indispensable part of the healthcare continuum. FDLFR will be partnering with Flight for Life (FFL) and will be providing demonstrations, along with a FFL landing. Kids will have the opportunity to try on firefighter gear, get a special visit by Sparky, and get some take home goodies. All will have the opportunity to tour the station, see the trucks, learn the basics of first aid, and handling emergencies. Light refreshments will be served.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
