Fond du lac police are investigating two reports of possible gunshots fired in the city. At 11:17 pm Tuesday police received a call of at least six shots fired in the area of 2nd Street and Park Avenue. A couple hours later a report came in of three gunshots in the area of Morris and 12th Streets. A witness reported seeing a dark colored SUV on Morris between 9th and 12th Streets and saw flashes of light coming from the vehicle. No injuries were reported.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
