BERLIN, Wis. (AP) — Police say a 12-year-old boy has died in an accident involving an off-road vehicle in Green Lake County. Authorities say officers were called to private property in Berlin Wednesday afternoon where the boy was found dead in a utility task vehicle accident. The UTVs are wider and longer than an all-terrain vehicle. Berlin police worked with the sheriff’s department and Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources to investigate the accident. The victim was a student at All Saints Catholic School in Berlin where counselors were being made available Thursday.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
