Thunderstorms rolled through the area early this morning knocking down trees and power lines in Fond du Lac County. A power line went down in front of a house on Savage Road in the town of Waupun starting a tree on fire. A tree was blown over on Highway 45 at Reinhardt Road blocking the northbound lane of traffic. A tree was also reported down on Highway SS between Highway 67 and G near Campbellsport. Scattered power outages were also reported.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
