7-14-15 road rage incident involving gun in waupun

Charges have been referred to the District Attorney’s Office following a road rage incident involving a gun in Waupun.  Police Chief Dale Heeringa says the incident occurred Thursday morning on Fond du lac Street.  Heeringa says one car tailgated another vehicle which eventually led to a confrontation between the drivers.  Heeringa says the driver of the first vehicle got out of the car to confront the tailgating driver who pointed a gun at him.  Charges of disorderly conduct have been referred to the DA’s Office against the first driver, a Fond du Lac man, and charges of endangering safety with use of a dangerous weapon have been referred against the second driver from Waupun.   Heeringa says it appears both drivers handled the situation poorly.  “Its a situation where you could totally ignore it, but once the firearm gets introduced and gets into play some serious consequences come out of that,”  Heeringa told WFDL news.  “…to be involved in something like that, there are better ways to take care of it.”
