A day after heavy rain caused flooding problems in northwest Wisconsin…heavy downpours are flooding parts of northeast Wisconsin. A flash flood warning was in effect Tuesday morning for several counties in east central Wisconsin including Winnebago, Calumet and Outagamie counties with heavy rain falling on already saturated ground. National Weather Service meteorologist Sean Miller says the good news is we needed the moisture. ” We have been in an area of abnormally dry (conditions) as the drought monitor classifies it,” Miller told AM 1170 WFDL’s Between the Lines program. “The rains we got a little while back, a couple weeks ago, helped a good deal and this is helping some more.”

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
