The Fond du Lac Holy Family Catholic Community hopes the sale of two school buildings will be finalized next summer. Holy Family announced last week it had reached an offer to purchase the buildings with Commonwealth Companies. Commonwealth plans to convert both buildings into apartments. Father Ryan Preuss says he’s pleased that the buildings will be preserved because they hold value to a lot of people. Father Ryan says there is also an effort underway to have the school buildings designated as historical landmarks. “We’re kind of at the initial stages of doing that and hopefully that will also help to give those buildings and those sites the recognition that is due to them but also to allow them to be maintained and have the structural integrity they deserve,” Father Ryan told WFDL news. Father Ryan says the churches adjacent to the school buildings will remain separate and are not part of the sale.
