The Department of Public Works would like to inform the motoring public the closure of Dixie Street between Hickory Street and Morris Street. The closure will begin Monday, October 19th and remain closed approximately 1 week. The street will be closed to allow the railroad to make temporary repairs to the crossing on Dixie Street. Motorists are encouraged to find an alternate route as there will not be a signed detour.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
