Waupun police are investigating the theft of two hand guns from a Waupun residence. Police chief Dale Heeringa says the guns were reported stolen last Friday from a home in the 400 block of Carrington Street. Heeringa says this latest theft may be related to a similar burglary at the same residence a of months ago and says it appears at least one of the guns was used in the commission of a crime in Milwaukee. The chief says its always concerning to law enforcement when weapons are stolen in burglaries.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
