The Dodge County Sheriff’s Office is joining other area law enforcement agencies participating in a statewide Prescription Drug Take Back Event this weekend. Sheriff Dale Schmidt says on Saturday, residents may bring unwanted, unneeded, or expired medications to the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office between 9am and 3pm and dispose of them in the Drug Drop Box in the lower level of the Sheriff’s Office. Schmidt says the program disposes of these medications in a way that will keep them out of the hands of those they are not intended for. Schmidt says the abuse of prescription medication is dangerous and many times leads to other more serious addictions such as heroin addiction. Other participating agencies include Police Departments in Beaver Dam, Columbus, Juneau, Lomira, Mayville, Watertown, and Waupun.
