Fond du Lac Fire/Rescue (FDLFR) was recognized in both the Senate and Assembly Tuesday afternoon by a Joint Resolution congratulating FDLFR for attaining International Accreditation earlier this year. Several FDLFR staff members, city staff along with City Manager Joe Moore were in Madison for the event. “Today was an incredible day to spend in front of Wisconsin’s lawmakers,” said Fire/Rescue Chief Peter O’Leary. “Our Fire Rescue Department was honored to be invited by Senator Gudex and Representative Thiesfeldt who co-authored the resolution.”

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
