The North Fond du Lac school superintendent says a recent drug sweep at Horace Mann High School and Bessie Allen Middle school found no illegal drugs or alcohol. Superintendent Aaron Sadoff says the search was conducted as a cooperative effort between the schools, and police from Fond du Lac, North Fond du Lac and Ripon. Sadoff says the district will continue to be vigilant to provide a safe, drug-free learning environment for students and staff.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
