WFDL news has learned the state Department of Health Services is withdrawing its Supervised Release Plan to locate a convicted violent sex offender from Milwaukee to Fond du lac County.   Fond du Lac County District Attorney Eric Toney told WFDL news he first heard the news from the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office Monday.    State officials noted in their letter to a Milwaukee County Circuit judge that a pre-emptive ordinance passed last week in Eldorado has “led to this placement no longer being viable” and that the agency has requested 90 days to find other housing for Clint Rhymes.   “Its really an incredible grassroots effort by the folks of Eldorado and the community to say you know what?  Something’s not right here and we don’t want to be the Guantanamo Bay dumping ground for these folks,”  Toney told WFDL news.  Toney says a hearing on the placement plan for Rhymes is still scheduled for 11am Wednesday in Milwaukee County Circuit Court.    The news comes as the Fond du Lac County Board considers a resolution at their meeting Tuesday night in opposition to placing Rhymes in a town of Eldorado home.  Hundreds of area residents attended an informational meeting last week at the Eldorado Town Hall voicing their opposition.  Rhymes spent more than 25 years in prison for a violent sexual assault and attempted homicide.
