Today is the deadline to sign up for coverage through the Health Insurance Marketplace for coverage beginning January 1st. As of last week in Wisconsin nearly 76,000 people had signed up and Kevin Kane with Citizen Action says he’s pleased with the the numbers. “We want to make sure that as many people get access to truly quality, affordable health care,” Kane told AM 1170 WFDL’s Between the Lines program. Kane says overall premiums have continued to fall…but not everywhere. “Wisconsin is one of the most expensive states in the nation, especially the large metro areas of Milwaukee and Green Bay are seeing prices that are higher than they used to be. What’s interesting is that in places like Fond du Lac County is that the premiums, the most common plans, are actually slightly less than they were last year.”
