The town of Eldorado chairman says he’s happy the Department of Health Services’ decision to withdraw its plan to place a violent sex offender from Milwaukee at a town of Eldorado home shows what can happen when a community comes together. Town chairman Gary Miller says the news didn’t necessarily come as a surprise. Miller says he thanks the sheriff, district attorney, town attorney and county executive for their efforts. “I was very, very happy. Sheriff Fink called me and told me he got the letter,” Miller told WFDL news. “That was good, good news, probably one of the happier days of my life.” The town board passed an ordinance last week that said the township would not accept sex offenders from outside the county. Clint Rhymes spent 25 years in prison for a violent sex assault and attempted homicide.
