This year the 15th annual Fond du Lac Community Christmas Dinner will be held on Christmas day, December 25 at it’s new location at the Eagles Aerie 270 Hall at 515 North Park Ave in Fond du Lac. Everyone is invited to attend this free event. The hall will be decorated for Christmas and there will be singers and musicians performing holiday music during the entire event. Volunteers will serve the sit down meal, which will include turkey, ham, dressing, potatoes and gravy, corn, cranberry sauce and dessert. Beverages offered are milk, coffee, and hot apple cider. The leadership and inmates of Taycheedah prison work together to prepare the meat. No Reservations are needed. This is open to anyone who is alone, unable to prepare a meal or just wants to share in the day. Transportation is provided for those unable to drive and deliveries for up to 4 meals are available to the homebound. A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
