12-17-15 walker signs bill abolishing state elections board

todayDecember 17, 2015

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Gov. Scott Walker has signed into law a bill that rewrites Wisconsin’s campaign finance law.  It’s one of two major bills Walker signed Wednesday. The other eliminated the state’s nonpartisan state elections board.  The campaign finance changes include doubling the limit for individual campaign contributions and eliminating a requirement that donors giving more than $100 identify their employer.  It also allows, for the first time, corporate donations to political parties and legislative campaign committees.
