A Brownsville man arrested following a high speed chase in Fond du Lac last weekend has been charged. Twenty year old Aidan Klosterman made his initial Fond du lac Court appearance Wednesday on charges of eluding and resisting an officer. Bail was set at $500 cash. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for February 19th. The chase started shortly before 4:30am last Saturday on West 9th Street near the Aquatic Center and continued on South Military Road with speeds near 90 miles an hour. The chase ended near Highwway 151 when the driver lost control of the vehicle and hit a snowbank. Police say Klosterman tried to flee on foot but was apprehended after a sheriff’s deputy used a Taser.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
