Representative Michael Schraa and Senator Rick Gudex would like to congratulate the Waupun High School Boys Basketball team on their qualification for this year’s State Tournament. The Waupun Warriors have had an outstanding season so far, with a record of 25 wins and only 1 loss. They defeated Milwaukee Lutheran 68-65 in the WIAA Division 3 Sectional Final and earned their trip to the state tournament. They will play Prairie du Chien this Thursday at 1:35pm at the Kohl Center here in Madison. Senator Gudex and I applaud the dedication and teamwork of the players and coaches. Congratulations on all your success so far, keep up the great work, and good luck at state!

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
