The Waupun School District plans to go to referendum this fall for a major district-wide facilities upgrade. The district Facilities Advisory Committee met Monday to finalize its priorities. Superintendent Tanya Gubin says the total cost would be in the neighborhood of $30 million. The school board will finalize the question and costs by the end of August. A community survey will be mailed out in May. Gubin says specific priorities include a new gym/ cafeteria at Meadow View Primary school and improving handicap accessibility. Gubin says the committee agreed to prioritize the addition of a new library and media Center, classroom remodeling and parking improvements and a new greenhouse at the SAGES school. Gubin says the committee also decided to keep 6th grade at Rock River Intermediate School instead of moving it to the Junior/Senior High School. At the Junior/Senior High School Gubin says the committee agreed that renovating and expanding technical education and agricultural programs is one priority . She says the committee felt building a new auditorium should not be a part of the referendum question.
