More people arrested in connection with a recent major heroin bust made Fond du lac court appearances Friday. Bail was set at $50,000 cash for Jodi Hafermann on a charge of manufacture-delivery of heroin. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for March 17th. Wendy Scheel was bound over for trial at a preliminary hearing Friday on a charge of manufacture delivery of heroin. Scheel is being held on five thousand dollars cash bail. Bail was set at $50,000 cash for Nathan Ziegler on three counts of manufacture-delivery of heroin.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
