More than 100 Fond du Lac high school musicians are going to Boston. Band director Matt McVeigh says high school band members are traveling to Boston April 9th through the 14th. McVeigh says the trip serves as an outstanding learning experience for the students. “We have several performances planned and one is an exchange with another high school,” McVeigh told WFDL news. McVeigh says the trip includes a clinic with the famed Boston Symphony Orchestra. Students will also attend a performance by the Boston Symphony Orchestra and visit some of the historical sites.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
