5-10-17 fdl police contract

todayMay 10, 2017

The city of Fond du Lac has reached a tentative contract agreement with the Fond du Lac police union.   The two year agreement calls for a 3.5 percent wage increase this year and a 3.25 percent increase next January.    The agreement addresses the post-retirement benefit liability concerns the city has been discussing the last several years by replacing a post-retirement year of free health insurance with a new plan that caps that benefit and eliminates the program for new employees hired starting this year.   In a separate resolution the Fond du lac city council will consider using $765,000 from the general fund for the  payment.
