todayMay 10, 2017

A Waupun High School student is one of three Wisconsin students named a Presidential Scholar.  Dylon Pokorny is a U.S. Presidential Scholar in Career and Technical Education, one of just 20 named nationwide.  Each scholar named a most influential teacher as part of their application.  Pokorny chose his high school agriculture teacher, Tari Costello.  “I chose Ms. Costello because she is the one teacher who has pushed me to become better all the time,”  Pokorny told WFDL news.  Costello says its incredibly humbling.  “I’m very, very honored, very appreciative, Costello said.    “Our job here is to help our kids be the best that they can be and to recognized for that is very humbling.”   State superintendent Tony Evers says Wisconsin’s Presidential Scholars represent the outstanding graduates of the class of 2017.    Created in 1964, the program has honored nearly 7,500 of the nation’s top-performing students.
