The Fond du Lac YMCA has reached its annual fundraising campaign goal. The Y says the $240,000 goal was reached due to the contributions of the community and the dedication of nearly 50 volunteer campaigners. Money raised is used to provide assistance to those who otherwise could not afford a membership. Support is provided based on demonstrated need, with the goal that no one be turned away from membership regardless of income or background.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
