Clean up continues throughout Fond du Lac County after a severe thunderstorm toppled trees and power lines and damaged several structures. Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s captain Ryan Waldschmidt says sheriff’s deputies responded to more than 50 downed trees and 29 power lines down. Waldschmidt says several structures were damaged including a shed that was flattened. “On Kenyon Road just east of Oakfield there was a pretty large pole shed that collapsed,” Waldschmidt told WFDL news. Waldschmidt says the storm maintained its strength as it moved across the county.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
