One person was killed in a two vehicle crash on Highway 151 in Dodge County. Sheriff Dale Schmidt says a 43 year old female passenger in a pick-up was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene on northbound Highway 151 at Gunn Road near Beaver Dam. A preliminary investigation shows that a 27 year old Iowa man was driving the pickup towing a trailer with a race car approaching the rear of a semi-tractor with box trailer. The pickup truck attempted to swerve to the inside lane to avoid collision with the semi, but the right side of the pickup struck the left rear and left side of the semi-trailer. The drivers of both vehicles were not injured.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
