A Mayville nursing home was evacuated Tuesday after a malfunction in the building’s heating and cooling system.
39 residents were safely evacuated from Crossroads Care Center on Clark Street Tuesday when the smoke alarms in the building were activated.
The Mayville Fire Department says nobody was injured in the incident.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
