Fond du Lac Area Transit has announced that Transit Manager, Lynn Gilles, has been elected the Wisconsin Public Transportation Association (WIPTA) Chairman of the Board. WIPTA provides a strong and cohesive voice for Wisconsin transit. WIPTA members work proactively to improve transit systems across the state by staying connected with legislation and issues that affect Wisconsin transportation.WIPTA represents 28 bus systems, 43 shared ride taxi systems, 24 associate and affiliate members, over 2,900 transit operators and $280 million annual expenditures in transit statewide. Gilles has been Fond du Lac Area Transit Manager and have served on the WIPTA Board of Directors for 14 years. She has her Masters of Public Administration from the University of Wisconsin at Oshkosh. She has previously been on the Board of Directors for the UW-Fond du Lac Foundation and Leadership Fond du Lac.
