The Oneida County Sheriff’s Office says it appears a 62-year-old woman whose body was found in Hazelhurst on Tuesday died after falling down a steep embankment. The Sheriff’s office says a preliminary investigation into Margie Hurula’s death does not indicate foul play. The Oneida County Medical Examiner said initial autopsy results show Hurula died from natural causes. Searchers found Hurula’s body in the Hazelhurst woods on Tuesday afternoon. She had been missing since Sunday.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
