Nobody was injured in a fire that destroyed a storage building in Campbellsport. At 2:30 pm Monday firefighters were called to the scene at N2496 on Highway 45. A pole shed, which was used as an office and for heavy equipment storage was destroyed. The building is own by Valley Hydro Excavating LLC. The only employee in the building was able to exit the building without any injuries. The cause of the fire is unknown and is being investigated by the Campbellsport Fire Department and the Wisconsin State Fire Marshal. Sixteen fire departments assisted at the scene. A portion of Highway 45 near Campbellsport was closed as fire crews worked to prevent the fire from spreading to a nearby propane tank.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
