A Watertown man is going to prison for supplying the heroin that led to the overdose death of a Dodge County woman. Dodge County judge Joseph Sciascia sentenced 50 year old Terence Jannke to 20 years in prison followed by ten years of extended supervision. Investigators say Jannke gave the heroin to Gabriel Brandl, who injected Holly Nehls with the drug in July 2016. Brandl drove with Nehls’ body in the front seat of a vehicle for several hours before taking her to a hospital, where she was pronounced dead. Brandl was sentenced last year to seven years in prison and 15 years of extended supervision.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
