For those who would like to become involved in community work from the comfort of your own home, ASTOP Sexual Abuse Center may have an opportunity available for you. Become trained in crisis intervention skills that will allow you to take calls and help people utilize ASTOP’s 24-hour crisis line. In addition to ASTOP crisis line volunteers, ASTOP is seeking volunteer advocates to respond and provide support to individuals in Fond du Lac, Green Lake and Waushara Counties. Fond du Lac advocates respond to St. Agnes Hospital Emergency Room Department, and occasionally at Aurora Medical Center in Oshkosh, as well as the Fond du Lac County Police Departments. Green Lake County volunteer advocates respond to Green Lake County Police Departments, advocates respond to St. Agnes Hospital Emergency Room Department, and occasionally at Aurora Medical Center in Oshkosh. Waushara County volunteer advocates respond to Aurora Medical Center in Oshkosh. ASTOP volunteer training will be held at the ASTOP Office, located at 21 S. Marr Street in Fond du Lac (Waushara training held in Redgranite). Training is set for March 10th from 8a-4p, 13th 4:30p-7:30p and 15th 4:30p-7:30p. All three session are required.
