Fond du Lac County continues to fall near the middle of the pack when it comes to overall health of residents. The county ranked 37 out of 72 counties for health outcomes and 19 for health factors according to the latest County Health Rankings released by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation and UW Population Health Institute. County Public Health Officer Kim Mueller says Fond du Lac ranked 22 when it comes to clinical care. Miueller says the county continues to fall short when it comes to the adult obesity rate. The county is currently in the process of completing a community health assessment and identifying significant health needs in the county.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
