No homes were damaged and nobody was injured following an out of control marsh fire in Dodge County. The Beaver Darm Fire Department and six other area departments responded Sunday to the Randy Hupf home on Wren Road to find strong winds fueling the fire through a nearby marsh. Multiple units were staged at four different locations to protect homes with winds shifting the direction of the fire. The fire burned approximately 100 acres of marsh before it was brought under control shortly before 2:30pm Sunday. The Beaver Dam Fire Department was assisted by Lowell, Reeseville, Juneau, Fall River, Columbus and Fox Lake fire departments. These departments assisted with tenders, grass fire trucks, engines and ATVs.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
